Choose a lake or an AIS species to explore the reference list.
Check the boat, trailer, anchor, dock lines, fishing gear and other equipment. Remove visible plants, animals and mud.
Drain live wells, bait buckets, bilges and other water-holding compartments before leaving the landing.
Clean equipment and allow it to dry before visiting another lake. Never transport aquatic plants or animals to another waterbody.
Use the state's official AIS prevention and lake-mapping resources for current information and regulations.
Watch for AIS on neighboring lakes and be especially careful when moving boats or trailers between waterbodies.
If you see a plant or animal you believe may be invasive, photograph it if possible and use Wisconsin DNR reporting resources for identification and guidance.
